This revolution refers to the transition from highly geometric designs to curvilinear designs seen in Persian carpets that closely resemble motifs in Ottoman architecture and art.

Material Details

Wool is the most popular fiber used in Turkish rugs because it is supple, durable, and plentiful in supply. The foundation that the wool pile is woven onto is made of the long fibers of mountain-dwelling goats and their hardy, durable goat's hair wool.
