The striped half of this collection is handwoven with all-natural jute, and it looks as good alone as it does layered underneath another rug. Amanda took our bestselling Hart weave and made it her own, with poppy orange-red and pink stripes.
The CollectionAmanda Jane Jones x Revival was born because we were such big fans of Amanda's work, on the page and in her home. After we supplied her new house with some Hart rugs, we approached her about designing her own pieces for us. That was the prompt: what kind of rugs would you like to have in your house? From there, our design team worked out the weaves and textures that would most effectively translate her designs from paper collage to her floors!
The MaterialJute is a natural fiber with a golden sheen, known for its tensile strength and versatility. Low-shed, easy-to-clean, and biodegradable, its handspun weft expresses the jute's natural irregularities and textures. An eco-conscious crop, jute has minimal water needs, and consumes large enough quantities of carbon dioxide that it's C02-neutral. Jute has a desirable variation of hue and texture, which we play up with small-batch space-dying.
The MakerOur partner is the third weaving generation of his family, and heads a small weaving house known for their unparalleled skill. A perfectionist with color, he and his team take great pride in their work, which is evident in their final product.
The DesignerAmanda Jane Jones is a graphic designer, art director, illustrator, children's book author, print designer, mom--and one of the nicest people we've ever had the pleasure of meeting. She also has a serious knack for interior design, which made her a dream collaborator on this project. Amanda's design approach is simple, punctuated with bursts of color.
Clean regularly with a non-rotary, low-powered vacuum without a beater brush. Rotate your rug on occasion to ensure even wear over time. Keep away from excessive moisture. Do not dry clean or steam clean. Professional cleaning recommended as needed.
