The Collection

An exploration of vibrant color and texture, designed to the weave. Beep Beep's palette of primary colors is elevated with stripes of moodier shades, and grounded in accents of black and cream.

The Design

Stop is a rich, vibrant maroon large-scale plaid with orange details and a dainty surprise stripe of lavender-taupe, finished with a striking black fringe.

The Material

Wool's natural lanolin makes it soft and shiny, protecting it from shedding and dirt—and it decomposes quickly without risk of microfibers. In this piece, a wool weft is woven onto a cotton and wool warp that uses two different sizes of yarn in a rhythmic fashion, adding movement, vertical stripes and a chunky effect.

The Supplier

We partnered with a small, family-run weaving house known for their flatweave expertise. They're Craftmark-certified, which means they meet stringent national standards for socially responsible handmade products. Many of their weavers have been with them for as long as 30 years, and their looms are 100 years old.

The Designer:

Our in-house, all-star design team collaborates across Los Angeles, Istanbul, and Mumbai. Starting with the weave itself, they determine material and technique, then create moodboards to capture the look and feel before beginning to design. When designs are finalized, they work with the supplier on an extensive sampling process, perfecting each style and color before it goes to production.

  • We recommend that you regularly vacuum your rug with a non-rotary vacuum to remove dirt and grime. Depending on how heavily your rug is used, just once or twice a month is adequate. Too much vacuuming can wear down the knots and fibers more quickly. If you have a suction attachment on your vacuum cleaner, use that instead of a rotary vacuum.
  • Every few months, you’ll also want to flip your rug over and vacuum the back to get the grit out of the foundation of the rug. It also helps to rotate your rug once a year to ensure even wear over time.
  • Every 3-5 years, we recommend getting your rug professionally hand-washed.
  • In case of spills, blot the spill until it’s dry, but do not add liquid. Consult an Oriental rug specialist immediately for cleaning. Adding liquid can make it harder to remove stains, and can even extend them further. This is because moisture travels along the fiber, so in rugs with horizontal fibers (like flatweaves), it can get trapped.
