Curator's Notes
Rodan has a minimal, modernist central medallion of a simple blue square. Its deep red field has striations of tone, eventually changing from a cherry red to a slightly poppy hue.
Material DetailsThese pieces are hand-knotted with a soft blend of sheep and lambswool. Unparalleled for centuries, wool has a hydrophobic layer which repels dust and dirt, as well as lanolin, which provides its trademark luster and protects the fiber from breaking or shedding. It's woven onto wool wefts, adding enviable body and heft.
