The MaterialRecycled glass is both fine and durable, and this version comes in a deep bottle green that catches and refracts the light. The original method of working with glass, mouth-blowing, or glassblowing, is an ancient art which requires precision and speed, and involves using a tube to blow molten glass into a bubble in order to shape it, before letting it cool and harden.
The SupplierWhen the small Casablanca-based factory which supplied much of Marrakech with their recycled glasses shut down, our partner jumped to action. He went to the field to learn the traditions of the craft first hand. In 2014, he launched his own recycled glass factory in Marrakech, working with designers and artisans to put their own spin on one of Morocco’s oldest heritage industries.
