The Design

A simple and elegant wooden candlestick for taper candles, handmade by local artisans on a lathe. With a midcentury modern conical shape, each piece is entirely one-of-a-kind; and its varied texture and tone is what makes it valuable.

The Material

Mango is a quick-growing wood known for its dense grain and durability. It’s beloved for its appealing texture and wide range of colors, ranging from dark to light, occasionally with a hint of pink. The wood is harvested from older trees: once the trees’ fruit-bearing lifespan has finished, it reroutes nutrients inward to its heartwood.

The Maker

Based in Jodhpur, also known as the Blue City, our partner founded her company almost 20 years ago. An entrepreneur with a passion for art, decor and handcrafted products, she embarked on a mission to carry the rich heritage of India to far off lands. VRIKSH-certified, they focus on using recycled raw materials to create new and innovative product lines.
