Hart is beloved for its nuanced, natural variation of hues, and finely-woven to create a delicate ombre. Bonus: its fine weave means it collects less dust. Terracotta is a rusty, coral red.
The Material- Jute is a natural fiber with a golden sheen, known for its tensile strength and versatility
- An eco-conscious crop, jute has minimal water needs, and consumes large enough quantities of carbon dioxide that it's carbon-neutral
- Handspun weft expresses the fiber's natural irregularities and textures
- Unbleached jute has a desirable variation of hue and texture, which we've played up with a delicate tonal gradation
Our partner is the third weaving generation of his family, and heads a small weaving house known for their unparalleled skill. A perfectionist with color, he and his team take great pride in their work, which is evident in their final product.
About Custom RugsIt takes approximately 8-9 weeks to produce and ship a custom piece, where it then arrives at our warehouse for a final inspection.
Because our custom rugs are woven by hand, there will be natural variations in color, and final sizes can vary by up to 2" in length and width.
A Note on CurlingBecause Hart is so finely woven, moisture in the air can occasionally make its edges curl up. A simple solve for this is to bend back that corner of the rug so you can curl the edge in the opposite direction, rolling it into a little burrito back and forth until it lies flat. See what we mean here .
- Clean regularly with a non-rotary, low-powered vacuum. Do not use beater brush.
- Rotate your rug on occasion to ensure even wear over time.
- Keep away from excessive moisture.
- Do not dry clean or steam clean.
- Professional cleaning recommended as needed.
- In case of spills, use a paper towel or cloth to blot the liquid. Add some clean water sparingly to the spot to dilute the stain (or wet a paper towel or cloth) and blot gently, not vigorously. Check to make sure there’s no citrus in your soap before using; this could bleach your rug. Repeat this process until the stain is removed. If the stain is persistent, try using a mild detergent, or a mixture of 1:1 white vinegar and water. Repeat this process until the stain is removed.
- Keep away from excessive moisture as jute is very absorbent.
