Beachy rugs with simple motifs and sunny accents, the Point Dume collection is inspired by surf shacks and the clean, bright geometric forms of artists like Alexander Calder and Laszlo Moholy-Nagy. Named for surf slang and the classic Malibu break, these pieces are perfect for evoking a casual, coastal je-ne-sais-quoi.
The DesignTurtle is fairly sophisticated for being so chill. Its dynamic, pale-brown semicircle motif reflects its name, which is the move you make when you flip underneath your board to avoid a too-big wave.
The MaterialJute is a natural fiber with a golden sheen, known for its tensile strength and versatility. In this collection, a twisted weft enunciates jute’s natural variance. An eco-conscious crop, jute has minimal water needs, and consumes large enough quantities of carbon dioxide that it’s C02-neutral. Unbleached, natural jute has a desirable variation of hue and texture, which we’ve played up with a tonal gradation.
The MakerOur partner is a small, family-run operation based in Bhadohi, with an in-house spinning mill, dying plant, weaving unit, and washing unit. They’re invested in researching new weaving technologies, especially when it comes to improving environmentally-sound practices.
The DesignerOur in-house, all-star design team collaborates across three different countries. Based in Los Angeles, Istanbul, and Mumbai, they put a lot of thought into each and every collection they design. Starting with the weave itself, they determine material and technique, then create moodboards to capture the look and feel before starting to design. When designs are finalized, they conduct an extensive sampling process, perfecting each style and color before it goes to production.
- Clean regularly with a non-rotary, low-powered vacuum without a beater brush
- Rotate your rug on occasion to ensure even wear over time
- Keep away from excessive moisture, which will cause mold.
- Do not dry clean or steam clean
- Professional cleaning recommended as needed
- In case of spills, use a paper towel or cloth to blot the liquid. Add some clean water sparingly to the spot to dilute the stain (or wet a paper towel or cloth) and blot gently, not vigorously. If the stain is persistent, try using a mild clear dishwashing detergent, or a mixture of 1:1 white vinegar and water. Check to make sure there’s no citrus in your soap before using; this could bleach your rug. Always test any product in a very small area on the back of the rug before using widely. Repeat this process until the stain is removed. Dry thoroughly.
