Blue rugs are extremely versatile and soothing, whether small or large. Blue rugs achieve their hue through a variety of types of dye, like indigo and woad, and were once prized for their rarity. Blue is such an easy color to style, from light to dark, because it's at once modern and traditional and fits with just about anything. We like using blue area rugs in kids' rooms because you can pretend you're swimming in an ocean! Of course, blue rugs are also naturally sophisticated, especially deeper shades, like navy or midnight, which makes rich blue area rugs ideal in living rooms or dining rooms, or high traffic areas, because (added bonus) they also hide dirt or wine spills well. Blue Persian rugs are also excellent for living rooms or dining rooms, as their classic designs were once in the palaces of kings and queens, so they add a regal air to any room they land in. Whereas paler shades like sky or baby blue can feel very sweet and calming - which means they're especially nice in a bedroom, or serene for a study. Brighter shades like royal blue or cornflower, Yves Klein blue or Majorelle blue, or blue rugs with wild constructions like shag or vintage Moroccan rugs are excellent for adding a witty or insoucient vibe to your room. These are good in playrooms, kids' rooms, studies, or anywhere you need a dash of eclectic design. You can find a blue rug that will look good with any style of decor, from classic to contemporary to bohemian to a mix of all three. These rugs also look good with many different color schemes: able to hold their own against bright colorful decor, or complement a more neutral palette. And they look great with monochrome rooms - a thousand different blues in harmony!
