Chindi Cushions
In India, chindi is a Hindi term that refers to torn cloth or rags, and these leftover fabric scraps are woven into new textiles, from rugs, to blankets, to cushions. Reflective of the ever-shifting post-modern, post-consumer landscape, our 'everything cushions’ are woven with colorful miscellaneous fibers. Artisans collect garments and cloth, sort them by color, and turn them into yarn to weave with. They make these pieces by hand, which adds to their lifespan.
