How to: find specific types of rugs

At Revival, we believe everyone benefits from good design—and deserves access to it. That’s why we offer a mix of specialty products and every type of rug you might need for your space. We started by sourcing and selling one-of-a-kind Turkish rugs, but thanks to your support and feedback, we’ve been able to branch out into offering a probiotic rug cleaning spray, non-slip rug pads, as well as washable and easy-care rugs.

We know it can be tricky to figure out which type of rug is right for you—so we created this simple guide to walk you through the different types of rugs we offer and help you find what you need

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ONE-OF-A-KIND RUGS AND STUDIO REVIVAL RUGS?

ONE-OF-A-KIND RUGS

Browsing through our one-of-a-kind rug collections is like virtually shopping at an open-air market. They’re filled with singular pieces sourced from weavers and rug collectors in Turkey and Morocco—and they tend to sell quickly. 

Our vintage one-of-a-kind rugs are thoroughly cleaned and feature designs handwoven anywhere between 25-100 years ago. Inspired by traditional and modern styles of rugs, our new one-of-a-kind rugs are sourced across notable weaving regions. Whether you're looking for a vintage Turkish kilim or a Moroccan Beni Ourain, we offer a wide range of different rug types under our one-of-a-kind collections. We trust the expertise of our artisan partners, so we don’t dictate or make design requests. All of our one-of-a-kind rugs are woven with strong natural fibers, like wool and cotton, and can last for decades with the right care.

Our buying team works closely with weavers and collectors to curate each one-of-a-kind rug on our site. About every 4-8 weeks, we bundle these new and vintage rugs into their own collection. We feature one-of-a-kind rugs in our ads and on social media to showcase the unique craftsmanship you can find at Revival. However, once these one-of-a-kind rugs are sold, we remove them from our site to give visibility to other available pieces. If you see a one-of-a-kind rug you like that fits your space, we advise claiming it before someone else does.

STUDIO REVIVAL RUGS

Studio Revival rugs are designed by our in-house design team. These pieces are made with a variety of materials and reflect styles ranging from modern, minimalist, transitional, to heritage-inspired. Our designers always “start with the weave,” beginning with the rug’s construction to determine the most complimentary materials and colors. Unlike one-of-a-kind rugs, Studio Revival rugs are typically restocked, and available in multiple sizes and colorways.

STUDIO REVIVAL does custom sizes

Love a Studio Revival rug, but need a different size for your space? We offer custom sizing for some of our most popular pieces. In most cases, custom Studio Revival rugs can be woven in sizes ranging anywhere from 4’ to 16’. If you need a specific size that isn’t listed (ex: 7’6” x 10’2”), email us at support@revivalrugs.com. Due to the additional time and resources needed to make these bespoke pieces, custom rugs are final sale from the time of purchase. 

WHY ARE SOME RUGS RESTOCKED WHILE OTHERS ARE NOT?

Restocks depend on the type of rug. True to their name, once a one-of-a-kind rug is purchased, it isn’t re-produced or restocked. In contrast, Studio Revival rugs are part of our growing evergreen collection. While we occasionally retire certain Studio Revival rugs or collections, most remain available. For those, you’ll find pre-order and restock notification options on the product pages, so you won’t miss out when they’re back in stock.

HOW TO FIND SIMILAR ONE-OF-A-KIND RUGS 

We understand it can be frustrating to fall in love with a one-of-a-kind rug that’s already found a home. While we can’t guarantee that specific colors, designs, or sizes will be available, our team is always happy to help you find alternatives. With thousands of one-of-a-kind rugs to choose from, it can take a while to browse through these collections one page at a time. If you don't want to take the scenic route, here are a few other ways to narrow your search:

• Browse by visual category: All of our one-of-a-kind Turkish and Moroccan collections are sorted by popular designs and styles of rugs found in Traditional, Oushak & Persian-style, Modern, and Moroccan-style rugs.

• Use filters: Narrow your search by size, color, pile height, and more to find the exact rug type that suits your needs. These dropdown filters can be found at the top of all of our collection pages with different types of rugs.
