We made a better washable rug. Mirage offers a modern take on traditional Moroccan motifs, done in tonal colors and textures. Their pile is—we cannot emphasize this enough—divinely soft. Some rugs in this collection have a slightly lower pile than most of our recycled polyester washable rugs, which makes their yarn a little less shiny. It also makes it a bit easier to fit them in your washing machine.
The DesignMirage is a geometric collection that draws inspiration from traditional Boujad designs. Boujad, a small city located on the western edge of the Middle Atlas, is known for its mesmerizing rug compositions, which represent movement and transcendence. Melt is a playful checkerboard in which tiny rectangles transform, growing larger and larger until you reach the top.
The MaterialThese pieces are made with recycled polyester left over from production companies who manufacture polymers for textiles, medical, and engineering purposes, and which would otherwise end up in a landfill. The polyester runoff is transformed through heat into a soft, sustainable fiber with the look and feel of wool. Our recycled poly is highly durable, OEKO-TEX certified for safety, mildew-resistant and machine-washable.
The MakerOur partner in Turkey began as a small family-owned weaving house over 50 years ago, with only two looms. Today, they're recognized as an award-winning leader in weaving technology, even making their own yarn for their various types of textile production.
The DesignerOur in-house, all-star design team collaborates across three different countries. Based in Los Angeles, Istanbul, and Mumbai, they put a lot of thought into each and every collection they design. Starting with the weave itself, they determine material and technique, then create moodboards to capture the look and feel before starting to design. When designs are finalized, they conduct an extensive sampling process, perfecting each style and color before it goes to production.

- When it's time for a deeper clean, machine wash your rug with like colors on a delicate setting with 1 TBSP of unscented, clear detergent.
- For size 5' x 8' we recommend using a 60lb (8cu ft) commercial washing machine, for 6' x 9' we recommend an 80lb (11.5cu ft) commercial washing machine, and for 8' x 10' we recommend a 100lb (13.5cu ft) commercial washing machine. Please call your local laundromat ahead of time to determine if the right washer size is available.
- For sizes 9' x 12' and above, spot or dry clean.
- Be sure to wash rugs according to their recommended washing machine size capacity. Please note: failure to adhere to size recommendations could result in damage to your machine.
- Preferably line dry. Alternatively, tumble dry on no or low heat setting.
- If your rug is heavily soiled, or if it's tough to find a laundromat, dry cleaning is recommended
- A slight shrinkage of up to 5% can be expected for all washable rugs
- Spot cleaning instructions:
- Lightly dampen a paper towel or cloth with clean water
- Gently blot the affected area with your damp towel or cloth to dilute the stain
- If the stain persists, try using an unscented, citrus-free, clear soap to avoid bleaching the textile.
- Repeat this process until the stain is removed
- Vacuum on low power with a non-rotary (no spinning brush) vacuum or suction attachment only.
- Foot traffic and movement can skew the fiber direction of your rug. For a more uniform look, brush your rug with your hand or a stiff plastic bristle brush to smooth and reorient the pile.
